3 Must Have Internet Smart Devices
The Internet of Things is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and/or to each other). This includes everything from cellphones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of. It is the latest innovation in technology. This is my list of 3 super cool devices built on this concept.
- Car IQ: CarIQ is India’s own connected car system. It makes cars smarter by connecting them to the Cloud and allowing the car and its driver to make decisions based on real time data. CarIQ collects data from various electronic systems in your car such as the engine, ABS, air bag system, among others and sends information about service requirements, critical alerts, engine health, driving data, fuel economy, etc (it also lets users share this data on social media). It is supported by all the major car manufacturers like Toyota, Mahindra, Tata, Hyundai, etc. manufactured after 2008. You can get the free app and upgrade to the Pro version: https://mycariq.com/
- Inoho: Inoho is an affordable home automation system that blends into the existing electrical plan of the house. Inoho has three parts: a switchboard module, a home controller, and the app. The switchboard module is installed behind any light switch panel with four or more switches (which is common in India). It eases access to the electrical appliances installed at home. For example, you can switch off the air conditioner, which one might have forgotten to turn off before leaving home, during the commute to work. The app can be used to control all the devices even while away from home. It allows the user to set mood lighting and on or off timers for devices like water heaters or air conditioners as per their convenience. Get it at: www.inoho.com
- Fitbit Aria: The Fitbit Aria is a wifi smart scale. It syncs automatically and wirelessly through your home Wi-Fi network automatically recognizing up to eight different people. Your weight data syncs to your private Fitbit dashboard, so you can control what data you share. The Aria uses 4 AA batteries – no power cord necessary. Its water resistant and designed to work in a humid bathroom environment. Some condensation due to hot showers, etc. will not damage the scale. Get it at: amazon.in
